The 11-date Voice UK tour has been cancelled entirely due to poor ticket sales.
It was confirmed on 18 June that five of the 11 gigs had been cancelled, but now the nationwide tour has been scrapped completely.
A spokesperson said in a statement:
“Unfortunately, The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to lack of ticket sales.
“Customers are advised to contact their point of purchase for ticket refunds.”
This is the latest blow for the new BBC One reality show, which saw viewing figures fall as the series progressed.
When the show started back in April, Jessie J, Sir Tom Jones, Danny O’Donoghue and will.i.am and their ‘spinny chairs’ attracted an audience of 10million, however the ratings dropped to 4.5m as the programme went on.
Twenty-eight-year-old Leanne Mitchell bagged The Voice crown this year, but her winner’s single, a cover of Whitney Houston’s Run to You, failed to make the Top 40.
The Voice UK tour was due to visit major UK cities throughout September. Fans with tickets will be able to get a refund.
