Homeland star Clare Danes has opened up about the second season of US drama Homeland, during the TCA summer press tour in Beverley Hills.
The actress, who revealed earlier this month that she is expecting her first child with Brit husband Hugh Dancy, spoke about where her character, CIA agent Carrie Matheison, will be during the next series:
“She’s been outed; she’s been exposed as this person with this condition, and that has altered her in a pretty fundamental way.
“She’s not hiding; she doesn’t have that panic or defensiveness. As we find her in the beginning of the season, she’s been humbled…She gets her mojo back, but it takes some time.”
Danes, 33, discusses the show in an interview with this month’s GQ magazine, describing Mathison as her “superhero alter ego”:
“Because as disturbed and troubled as she is, she’s always f***ing right. Which is so nice because I so rarely am.”
The second series of Homeland will premiere on Showtime in the UK on 30 September 2012 and is set to debut on British screens on Channel 4 in October.
