Denise confirms marriage is over
Loose Woman Denise Welch has announced that her marriage of 23 years is over.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner broke down in tears as she confirmed the news on ITV’s Loose Women yesterday, saying that her marriage to Tim Healy ended “some time ago”:
The 53-year-old told viewers:
“I just want to say, this is going to be really difficult for me… My family made a decision that we would talk about this today. Tim and I separated some time ago.
“So I’m not having an affair, we have been living our own lives for some time now.
“I just wanted to thank everybody. Tim and I feel a sense of relief that we don’t have to hide this anymore. We’ve actually become better friends since we’ve made the decision but we wanted to have Christmas with the family without telling anybody.”
She was encouraged to admit her marriage was over, after reports surfaced last week that she had had two affairs with younger men. She was, in fact, single the whole time.
The pair have two children together, Matthew, 22, and Louis, 10.
