Frankie Cocozza to host Super Sweet 16

Frankie to host Super Sweet 16 special

X Factor reject Frankie Cocozza has landed a job with MTV, presenting a one-off episode of the series, Super Sweet 16.

Frankie, who’s known for his love of partying, drinking and womanising, will front Super Sweet 16 UK vs. US, which has been billed as “the ultimate transatlantic party clash”.

The show follows youngsters as they plan and throw decadent parties for their friends to celebrate their 16th birthdays.

MTV has said that the show will pit “the UK’s privileged princesses against the demanding divas from the US”, describing Cocozza as the ultimate “party pimp”.

Cocozza was thrown off the X Factor last year after breaking one of the show’s ‘golden rules’, however rumours of drug use and suggestions that he was more focussed on partying than being successful on the show, were also reported to be factors in his exit.

Frankie’s episode of Super Sweet 16 UK vs. US airs on MTV on 22 April at 12pm.

CBB contestants revealed

Madsen is among the new CBB housemates

Celebrity Big Brother is back, with a host of famous – and not so famous – faces entering the house in a two-hour special on Channel 5 last night.

Reservoir Dogs star Michael Madsen, shamed X Factor star Frankie Cocozza and rugby star Gareth Thomas were among the stars to become housemates this year.

They were joined in the house by Natasha Giggs – known for her infamous affair with brother-in-law, Ryan Giggs – model Nicola McClean, So Solid Crew star Romeo and The Only Way is Essex’s Kirk Norcross.

Playmates Kristina and Karissa Shannon, lingerie model Georgia Salpa and Andrew Stone from Pineapple Dance Studios also entered the house, which this year has a ski lodge theme.

Loose Woman Denise Welch and Eastenders star Natalie Cassidy completed the line-up.

Upon entering the house, Cassidy was given a secret task, which involved Big Brother giving her commands via an earpiece.

The actress, who played Sonia in the Walford-based soap, had to compliment Hollywood star Madsen on his role in Free Willy, kiss Frankie Cocozza on the lips and repeatedly tell McLean that she was “ok” with her being in the house with her – all to ensure housemates received their suitcases.

Host Brian Dowling revealed on the show that the first housemate will be evicted on 11 January.

Catch Celebrity Big Brother 2012 evenings on Channel 5.

Axed X Factor acts get second chance

Second chance for axed acts

Four of the previously sent-home X Factor acts have been given the opportunity to come back to the X Factor in Frankie Cocozza’s place.

Either Amelia Lily, 2 Shoes, James Michael or Jonjo Kerr will take the shamed 18-year-old’s place, after he was kicked out for breaking an X Factor “golden rule”.

All four acts were eliminated by their own mentor during week one, but now the public will decide who they want to return by way of a telephone vote.

Whoever receives the most votes will win their place back in the competition this weekend.

A spokesperson for the X Factor said:

“The four acts have never been in a public vote so, with Frankie leaving the competition, this is an opportunity for the public to decide who comes back to the show.”

News broke that controversial contestant Cocozza had been axed from the show on 8 November.

He released a statement confirming the reports, saying:

“I’d like to apologise to Gary, my fellow contestants and everyone who has voted for me, but, as of today, I will no longer be in the X Factor.

“My life during the show has gone out of control and my behaviour off stage has over-stepped the rules of the competition.”

Show bosses will announce voting details later today [10 November].

Frankie kicked off X Factor

Axed from X Factor

Frankie Cocozza has been booted off the X Factor for breaking one of the show’s golden rules.

The controversial contestant released a statement confirming the news earlier this afternoon:

“I’d like to apologise to Gary [Barlow], my fellow contestants and everyone who has voted for me, but, as of today, I will no longer be in The X Factor.

“My life during the show has gone out of control and my behaviour off stage has over-stepped the rules of the competition. I no longer deserve my place in the show, so I am therefore leaving.

“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me.”

An X Factor spokesperson also commented, saying:

“Frankie is leaving the show today after breaking competition rules. He is going to take some time out before continuing his career as a singer.

“We wish him all the best for his future.”

Frankie, 18, had been known more for his wild off-stage behaviour than his live performances.

It is not yet known what impact his departure will have on the X Factor elimination process this weekend.

Two acts to face the X Factor chop

Two acts will be sent home

Two acts will be sent home from the X Factor this weekend it has been confirmed.

Show judge and Group mentor Louis Walsh revealed the news this morning, speaking to Chris Moyles and his team on the Chris Moyles Show.

He told the Radio One DJ that two acts would be leaving the singing reality show on Sunday, before also revealing that he thought his acts were “in trouble”.

He also expressed concern about Gary Barlow’s act, Frankie Cocozza, who has been pictured out partying since the live shows began.

Frankie most recently got into trouble on last weekend’s Xtra Factor show, after being asked what happened between him and a Geordie Shore cast member.

He told hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack that he had “met her” and “banged her”, before taking to Twitter to apologise for going “too far”.

When asked by Moyles if Frankie was “still putting the work in” behind the scenes, Barlow – who was also a guest on the show, alongside Kelly Rowland – said yes, explaining that he didn’t want to tell the 18-year-old what to do.

Last week, Kelly Rowland’s act Sophie Habibis was sent home after a tense sing-off against fellow Girl Misha B.

All of the judges, including an absent Kelly, chose to send the former bar maid home.

ITV apologise for X Factor swearing

Frankie's wild side encouraged

ITV has issued an apology following Frankie Cocozza’s bad language on the X Factor at the weekend.

The controversial contestant was caught on camera on Sunday yelling “f***king have it”, after discovering he that he had made it through to next week’s live shows.

He also stuck his finger up at the cameras during his VT on Saturday night’s show.

A representative for the ITV talent show said:

“Emotions were running high during the live show and we apologise if any potentially offensive language was audible.

“All the contestants are reminded of their responsibilities regarding language on the live shows.”

The spokesperson also said that the broadcaster did not make an on-air apology because it thought the comments were inaudible to viewers.

Eighteen-year-old Frankie was encouraged to embrace his ‘wild side’ by mentor Gary Barlow at the weekend, after he ended up in the bottom two the previous week.

His performance of Primal Scream’s Rocks proved to be enough to save him, with two of Louis Walsh’s Overs, battling it out to stay in the competition.

In the end, Sami Brookes was sent home by three out of four judges after a tense sing-off against Kitty Brucknell.

The X Factor continues Satuday and Sunday evening on ITV1.

X Factor final 16 revealed

Final 16 confirmed

The final 16 acts going through to the X Factor Live Finals have been decided, following a two-part special which aired over the weekend.

The 32 acts performed for the judges and their aides on Saturday night, before being whittled down to just 16 on last night’s show.

Mentor to the Boys, Gary Barlow, chose to put Joe Cox, Frankie Cocozza, Marcus Collins and James Michaels through over acts such as 16-year-old Luke Lucas and John Wilding, who reached the same stage in the programme last year.

Kelly Rowland went for Amelia Lily, young Janet Devlin, barmaid Sophie Habibis and Misha Bryan, sending home Holly Repton, Melanie McCabe, Sarah Watson and Jade Richards, who she championed from her first audition.

In the Overs category, mentor Louis Walsh chose Johnny Robinson, Jonjo Kerr and controversial contestants Kitty Brucknell and Goldie Cheung to go through to the live finals.

However, Goldie was replaced by Samantha Brookes, when it was revealed that the Tai Chi instructor did not want to go onto the next stage due to “family commitments”.

Completing the line-up was Tulisa Contostavlos who selected groups Rhythmix, Nu Vibe and Two Shoes, sending home The Lovettes, Estrella and Girl V Boy.

In an X Factor first, The N-Dubz star then poached rejected band The Keys’ lead singer, Charlie and put him through as part of rival boyband, The Risk.

The final 16 will sing live for the first time in a two-and-a-half hour special to air this Saturday at 7.30pm, with the first elimination shown on the Sunday night show.
