Adele will sing Skyfall theme
Adele will sing the theme for upcoming Bond film, Skyfall, it has been confirmed.
The singer announced the news on 1 October, opting to post a picture of the track’s score via her Twitter account.
A countdown clock on the star’s official website also revealed that the song will premiere in full at 00.07am (UK time) on 5 October.
A short preview of the soundtrack has since emerged online, with the lyrics including:
“Let the sky fall, when it crumbles, we will stand tall, and face it all together.”
Daniel Craig will return as 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd Bond film, set for release on 26 October. In his third outing as the super spy, Daniel will be joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Berenice Marlohe, Naomie Harris and Judi Dench, who reprises her role as M.
The track, Skyfall, has been written by Adele and producer Paul Epworth and is available to pre-order from iTunes now. The song will be available for download from 5 October.

After Bond’s appearance at the London 2012 opening ceremony last Friday, it seems very timely that the brand new trailer for Skyfall was released this week.
Unfortunately, the Queen doesn’t make an appearance this time – and I’m yet to decide if two Bond Girls make up for that omission – but it seems Skyfall is going to be yet another triumph for the Daniel Craig era.
The 2-minute-25-second-long preview begins with Bond plummeting to his ‘death’, shot by Bond Girl number one, Naomie Harris, under orders from Judi Dench’s M.
It seems 007 has a bit of fun being ‘dead’, drinking and trapping scorpions and the like, before resurrecting himself and his one-liners to deal with new villain, Silva, played by Javier Bardem.
From the trailer, we basically get everything you’d expect from a Bond film really, which isn’t a bad thing by a long shot. Patriotism, gadgets, an unnerving villain and Bond being, well Bond, with a lady in a shower.
Whatever you think, I’d suggest getting on board with Bond now, because as of October, 007 mania will have hit thanks to the spy reaching his 50th birthday. Many happy returns.
Skyfall is set to reach UK cinemas on 26 October 2012.
The first official image of Daniel Craig in the new Bond film, Skyfall, has been revealed.
Craig, who returns for his third film as Ian Fleming’s James Bond on 26 October, will be joined by a cast which includes the likes of Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Berenice Marlohe, Naomie Harris and Judi Dench as M.
The film’s title was confirmed back in November, with the movie’s producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson praising its director, Sam Mendes:
“We’re so delighted to have Sam Mendes direct Skyfall and be working once again with Daniel Craig.
“We’ve a great script, an extraordinary cast and an incredibly talented creative team for this latest James Bond adventure.”
