The couple welcome baby Marnie Rose

Lily Cooper has given birth to her second child, a baby girl called Marnie Rose.

Lily and husband Sam, 34, who tied the knot in 2011, become parents for the second time on 8 January, with a source reportedly telling The Sun:

“Marnie is a real cutie. Sam and Lily are ecstatic about adding another girl to the family.”

The 27-year-old singer choose to thank fans for their support via her Twitter account on Thursday, posting:

“Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. THANKYOU everybody x x x”

The pair already have one daughter together, 14-month-old Ethel.

The couple revealed on their wedding day that they were expecting their first child together, while Lily’s father, Keith Allen, put an end to speculation surrounding her second pregnancy by confirming the news on This Morning in July of last year.

After weeks of speculation, it has been confirmed that singer Lily Allen is pregnant with baby number two.

The star’s father, Keith Allen, revealed the news on ITV1′s This Morning, telling hosts:

“Yes, she is pregnant!”

Lily and her husband, Sam Cooper, welcomed their first child together, Ethel, last December, and the pair are said to be “thrilled” to be expecting a new arrival.

A source reportedly told the Sunday Mirror:

“Lily has started telling her friends and everybody in her close circle is so excited for her.

“It was a surprise but Lily and Sam are thrilled. The pair of them have loved every minute of parenthood so far and wanted to expand their brood quickly. So it’s great timing.”

Since the birth of her daughter, Lily has enjoyed some time away from the spotlight, however she did make an appearance at one of the Stone Roses’ recent come-back gigs at Heaton Park, joining rapper friend Professor Green on stage as he supported the Manchester legends.

Since becoming a mum five weeks ago, Lily Cooper has managed to keep details of her baby daughter under wraps – until now.

According to reports, her mother Alison Owen has let slip about the little girl’s name on Facebook, referring to her granddaughter as Ethel May.

Lily herself has remained very tight-lipped about the new arrival, with no pictures released or official confirmation regarding her daughter’s name.

The popstar-turned-boutique owner also declined to comment on the birth via her Twitter page, simple posting “totes amaze” on the day of Ethel’s arrival.

A week later, the twenty-six-year-old posted a thank you for the “lovely messages”, but has not tweeted about her new family since.

Lily married her builder other half, Sam Cooper, in June and gave birth to the couple’s first daughter on 25 November.

She tragically lost her first baby with Sam at six months in 2010 and also suffered a miscarriage in 2008, when she was in a relationship with The Chemical Brothers’ Ed Simons.

Lily and Ben Cooper have welcomed a new addition to their family.

According to reports, singer Lily gave birth to a baby girl on Friday evening.

The couple are yet to announce the child’s name, leading friends and Twitter followers to refer to the baby as Mini Cooper.

There has been no comment from either Ben or Lily on the birth, with the Smile star simply posting “totes amaze” on her Twitter profile.

This has, however, not stopped hoards of celebrity well-wishers Tweeting the couple, with Glamour editor Jo Elvin one of the first to congratulate them:

“Ah, you’ve had a girl @MrsLRCooper! Congrats to you and Sam. But it makes a mockery of my ‘boy bump’ knowledge xx”

Amanda Holden, who is expecting her second child, also wrote to the 26-year-old star:

“Massive congrats to Lily and Sam! Such good news. Xxxx”.

The birth is particularly poignant for the pair, who lost their first child – a baby boy – almost a year ago.

Lily debuts baby bump

Singer Lily Cooper has debuted her baby bump, posting a Halloween-themed picture via her Twitter account.

The Smile star has been taking it easy ahead of the arrival of her new child, but last night she chose to give us a glimpse of her ever-growing bump, alongside the caption:

“Me, bump and pumpkin, I did it last night during X Factor.”

Lily is due this November and has been keeping fans updated with how she is getting on through her Twitter profile.

Earlier this month, she posted of her baby shower hesitance, saying “en route to baby shower, bit scared!”

She also appeared less than impressed with comments her husband Sam made, tweeting:

“My husband just called me his “little Fat Controller” – like off of Thomas the Tank Engine, so not LOL.”

Lily, 26, and Sam Cooper married back in June at a village church in Gloucestershire.

News that the singer was pregnant broke soon after, with her dress designer, Delphine Manivet, revealing:

“It’s beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her.

“You can see of course the little stomach – it looked very cute with the dress.”
