Showtime has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming season of Dexter.
The teaser, entitled Truth Brings Light, gives fans a brief insight into what will happen in series seven.
Dexter executive Scott Buck recently confirmed that the next season will pick up where series six left off, with Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) discovering her adopted brother Dexter (Michael C Hall) committing murder.
In the video, Dexter can be heard saying:
“Everything in my life has brought me to this point. It’s what I am, it’s all I am. I can accept that… but can she?”
Dexter returns for a seventh season in the US on 30 September.

Buck talks Dexter series seven to TV Guide
Dexter executive Scott Buck has revealed what fans can expect from the show’s much anticipated seventh series.
The US programme, which follows serial killer Dexter Morgan as he balances his home life with murdering criminals, will pick up where season six ended – with his sister Deb walking in on him ‘dealing’ with a victim.
Buck told TV Guide that the show won’t shy away from dealing with Dexter’s sister discovering him, explaining:
“Viewers might think we shy away from that moment of Debra walking in and seeing Dexter stabbing into Travis’s chest, but it’s just the opposite.
“She now has to deal with what she’s seen and what she knows. And it forces him to defend and define himself.”
He also confirmed that season seven will continue to follow Deb, played by Jennifer Carpenter, as she comes to terms with her feelings for Michael Hall’s Dexter – a storyline which proved somewhat unpopular with viewers:
“It’s ironic that people are fine with Dexter jabbing people in the heart but mortified by this romance.
“We’re not shying away from those feelings of hers.”
Season seven of Dexter is set to air on FX in the UK and Showtime in the US this September.
