Abbey ties the knot
Footballer Peter Crouch and model Abbey Clancy tied the knot in a ceremony in Lincolnshire yesterday.
The couple, who have been together for six years, married in the grounds of a country estate in front of a 120-strong group of family and friends.
After exchanging vows, the newly-weds posed for waiting paparazzi outside the 200-acre Stapleford Park estate.
Abbey, who gave birth to the pair’s first child just three months ago, wore a stunning, white strapless Giles Deacon gown with a tiered silk skirt, while the Tottenham striker wore a black suit and waistcoat with a white tie.
Following the church service, the pair headed to the Orangery at the hotel for their wedding reception, where they were rumoured to have laid-on a magician, kareoke and a live band.
Crouch popped the question in 2009, following a romantic holiday in Sardinia; however their relationship hasn’t been the most straightforward.
In 2006, Peter released a statement clarifying that he and Abbey were no longer together, following drug allegations concerning Clancy:
“Abbey and I were in the very early stages of a relationship which, for a number of reasons, I decided a few weeks ago to end, and I accordingly informed Abbey of my decision.”
It wasn’t long before the couple reunited, but their relationship was rocked again by recent allegations that Crouch had visited a prostitute in Madrid, while on a friend’s stag weekend.
The couple quickly got things back on track and Clancy announced that she was pregnant in September 2010, welcoming a little girl, Sophia Ruby, in March.
