Inbetweeners star marries

James and Clair tie the knot in Scotland

Inbetweeners star James Buckley has married his girlfriend of two years, Clair Meek.

The pair held their nuptials at Dundas Castle, just outside Edinburgh, with 25-year-old Buckley donning a kilt for the occasion.

James’ Inbetweeners co-stars, Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas were also in attendance, alongside other famous friends including Danny Dyer, who Tweeted after the event:

“A lovely cute couple.I wish @RealJBuckley & the lovely @Clair_Meek all the best.I almost wanna get married. (almost).” [sic]

A source reportedly told the Daily Record:

“Clair and James looked so happy together. He was loving the excuse to get dressed up in his kilt. The day was perfect.”

Buckley and Meek got together in 2010, with James apparently proposing in April of this year. The couple also have a baby boy together, one-year-old Harrison.

First look: Inbetweeners USA cast

MTV has released its first promotional picture from The Inbetweeners USA.

The image shows Simon, Will, Neil and Jay’s American counterparts, played by Bubba Lewis, Joey Pollari, Mark L Young and Zack Pearlman, walking down a road.

The presence of a yellow car door and black briefcase suggests that there will be a few nods to the original Channel 4 series, despite the show moving across the pond.

Speaking about his character, Will, Joey Pollari previously told the Hollywood Reporter:

“He’s moving from a private school to a public school and finds out that the only three guys who will hang out with him are these fools.

“They bond together to try and get girls and try to get each other out of the way as soon as a girl gets into the picture.

“It’s a lot like the real high school experience. That’s certainly what I went through.”

The Inbetweeners will debut on MTV in the States on 20 August, while the big screen version of the show will hit US cinemas in September.

Inbetweeners new series denied

Reports of a fourth series rubbished

Reports that there will be a fourth series of the popular comedy The Inbetweeners have been denied by the show’s co-creator, Iain Morris.

Morris took to Twitter to rubbish the rumours, which surfaced after the Daily Star published a quote that was supposedly from one of the show’s stars, James Buckley.

Ian replied to one user who asked for comment on the story, writing:

“Is ‘total b******s’ succinct enough? For those that care, the last time James was in the US was my wedding last year, so the story is either a; v old or b; totally made up.”

He also added:

“The thing about the Daily Star story is that people are getting excited, and now we look [like] a*******s by just maintaining our position.

“It’s really unfair of them, and I’m sorry if it got you excited. I really am. i seem to have disappointed quite a lot of people today by doing nothing. I’m genuinely sorry hopes were raised, but i didn’t raise them.”

The newspaper ‘quoted’ Buckley, during a trip to the States, as saying that a further series was in the works and hinting that a character could possibly be killed off:

“Maybe one of them dies and the other three have to join up for the funeral. But the question is – who are they gonna get rid of?”

The Inbetweeners starred Buckley as Jay Cartwright, alongside Simon Bird, who played Will McKenzie, Blake Harrison as Neil Sutherland and Joe Thomas as Simon Cooper.

The group were last seen on the big screen in the movie adaptation of the series, which broke Box Office records last summer.

Inbetweeners set for big screen sequel

Second film on the way?

Fans of this summer’s box office smash The Inbetweeners Movie could be in for a treat, with the team behind the film rumoured to be planning a sequel already.

According to a number of reports, studio bosses have asked for a follow-up to the hit movie, which will see the friends reunited four years from now.

A production insider told The Mirror:

“Initially we said the characters and themes had reached a natural conclusion. But the success has been too big to ignore and it makes perfect sense to give the fans what they want.

“It would be much more viable than making an extra series because the characters have moved on, so that’s what we’re doing.”

The source also claimed that the proposed film will see characters Will, Simon and Jay all come together for Neil’s wedding, adding:

“The characters have all gone off and done different things but agree to hook up for his stag party and wedding.”

The Inbetweeners Movie has taken over £27million at the box office, beating The Hangover 2 to bag the biggest opening weekend this year.

The film itself – an extension of the popular television series – follows the four friends as they go on their first lads holiday together to Malia, Crete.
