Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis have gone their separate ways after 14 years together, it has been announced.
Rumours of a split have been circulating since May, but were vehemently – and repeatedly – denied by both Paradis and Depp.
The couple, who have two children together, Lily-Rose, 13, and nine-year-old Jack, are said to have split amicably.
Depp’s spokesperson released a statement confirming the news and calling for “privacy”:
“[They] have amicably separated. Please respect their privacy and, more importantly, the privacy of their children.”
Speaking at the premiere of his latest film, Dark Shadows, on 9 May, 49-year-old Depp blasted split rumours, telling The Sun:
“The rumours are not true. They are absolutely not true. No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite. I can’t say enough about it not being over.”
The pair had not been seen at a public event together since 2010.
Depp, 49, began dating model Vanessa, 39, in 1998 after his high profile relationship with Kate Moss ended.
He has already been linked with his Dark Shadows co-star, Amber Heard, 26.
